Dave, you are on a roll!! My picks would be the two unknowns.

Interesting photo setup!

I really like turning wood but I have my moments when I really like acrylics or counter top material. Having freinds at home depot in the kitchen/bath department isnt a bad thing for counter top material to turn.

Nice pens, all of them

Thanks. #5 is my favorite as well.

As for the photo setup it's pretty simple, well relatively speaking I guess. Seemless white paper hanging down and coming over a table, fishing line holding the pen from above (photo-shopped out later), a strobe in a softbox off to the left (could use any soft of light really) and a white reflector to the left (white paper or sheet work just as well). My monitor is a bit off so I'm not sure if they are exposed right, but I figured it get's the point across.... Oops this is a turners forum, not a photo forum :p

Now I need to get back to turning something bigger or finishing my tile work....

Nice work on all of them Dave! I like all of the materials used - especially the Lacewood in photo #3.

Thanks. I prefer the size of the Euro Style pens better, they feel better and they show more wood, but they both have a couple flaws. Now that I have the slimline mastered I need to practice up on the Euro style....

Really nice looking bunch of pens Dave. I like #5 but also like the don't know wood. Kinda reminds me of some kind of rosewood or bocote.

I do believe #5 is Bocote!
