Gaining weight

Cut & rough turned some peach in 12-09, soaked in DNA for 5 days then bagged in shaving down in my cool dry basement also large walnut bowl 10 by 5 by 1 cut 5-09 rough turned 12-09. All pieces gained 1 to 2 grams from last week. Removed from shavings brought upstairs & will sit on-top of a closet until ready to finish turn.

I know we all have our own ways of doing things - so, I was wondering why you bagged the bowls in shavings after taking them out of the DNA bath? Were the shavings dry?

Steve while I'm turning a piece a fill a paper shopping bag with the shavings from the turning put the turning in the bag for the trip home do the soak thing the back into the same shavings. Some times if I feel it needs slower drying I put the paper bag in a plastic bag, did this with the walnut because it was to big for my DNA bucket.
