Ok, so I haven't had much luck with the web and I could maybe be opening up a topic that could need it's own forum. I'm sure there are either many ways to do it or just one way. But how, exactly, is the best way to do an inlay in a piece of furniture? I see them all the time in the woodworking projects forum, but didn't want to sound like such a newbie by asking.

Is there a book or dvd (for us non reading folk) that explain how to do it successfully?

Joe....do a search on a member...Dewey Torres....He did some inlay and marquetry.

FWW has some vids by Garret Hack and others that are pretty good. available online with a membership.
