I just brought home an older Powermatic Lathe, runs well, has all the parts. http://s752.photobucket.com/albums/xx161/steven215bucket/Lathe/?action=view&current=oldlathe.jpg
12 inch swing and 44 inches between the centers. No model number so far. Has anybody got an idea of what the model is? It came out of a high school shop if that helps?

I can't help you with the model number but that looks like a nice solid lathe. Congrats.

Looks like it might be a model 45 but I don't know for certain.

Yup that's it. Further inspection revealed a motor that doesn't look as old as it should. Now I have to find out if it's three phase or single phase. The seller isn't any help.
Thanks again

There should be a plate on the motor saying what it is. Check out OWWM.com for a manual and threads on how to rebuild it if necessary.
