Nd:Yag near Houston request

Anybody in the Houston area with an Nd:Yag? I just had a job thrown by me etching smalll 17-4 stainless steel industrial components with part numbers. Not a job for Cermark. 200 parts.

How much power do you have? You may be able to do it without the Cermark if you have enough juice...

45 watts. I doubt that is enough.

Why is Cermark a problem? I quite often do part numbers on hundreds of parts.. A airbrush goes a long way to reducing the amount of cermark needed, line em up spray em, laser them (in a multi piece template if need be), then throw em in a bucket of water for a few minutes and swish em around to wash off the cermark, and set them on a table covered with paper towel to let them dry.. Pack em up.. done..go cash the cheque.. You get a premium price for marking stainless anyway..or at least you should be..

The specification calls for acid etching. I've seen the drawings for the part and it's a fairly tight tolerance part. Plus, since I'm in CA there's more margin in it for someone local. Shipping 200 metal parts will eat into that.

Not if you use the post offices flat rate boxes. They are useable up to 70 pounds.
