I think TB II is available in a dark glue that they suggest for walnut.

if the joints are tight. I built our four poster using a walnut tree that I dropped on our property and had kiln dried. I used good old TB II to glue up the headboard and to this day you can't tell where the glue line is without knowing. I've had many people ask me where I got so wide a board of walnut.
You'll be fine with a good tight glue line.
Oh, I love an oil and beeswax finish on walnut, nothing like a natural finish on a bed and bedside tables.:D

Titebond II is my glue of choice for most furniture applications.

can you get the "dark" Titebond? David Marks used it on a recent show with walnut. I've looked at Lowes but they just had regular TB & TBII. Any other sources other than mail order?

Must be a regional thing, Mark. The Lowe's here carries the dark TB, and even hide glue. Now if someone in town would just carry a bunch of big iron...
