I just picked up the Delta 17-950L that was on clearance at Lowes. Checked two stores this evening and both were sold out. My wife called another local Lowes and asked for the manager. She managed to get the drill press marked down to $250 from $350. I know others have gotten them cheaper but still not a bad deal. I got one in the box and another guy got the display model.

Got it setup and running. Drilled some holes in a piece of 2" thick white oak with a 2" forstner bit. Wow. I am really pleased. This is a far cry from the Northern tool bench top jobby I have been using.

I'd been watching one locally for the past month. Tried twice to get them to come off the $350 with no luck. Tried again today (with a receipt from here) and got them to $250. When I got to the checkout, I asked for the military discount...showed my ID and got it for $225. Not quite the $150 that many on here got but I needed it and got a pretty good deal.

Good price for that DP. After a little tweaking (which is a personal thing and not for everyone) mine has been good to me.
