portable chain morticer

Has any one ever used a portable chain morticer like the Makita one to make internal doors......? is there any reason why not ?
I don't want to buy any kit I can't move by myself.......

Not sure which model you're looking at, but the portables are designed for timber framing type operations. The Makita 7104L Chain Mortiser, which is one of the smaller ones, has a min clamping width of 3 1/8". That's some darn hefty doors:D. The chain is 23/32" or almost 3/4" wide, darn hefty mortises for a interior door.

For the price, you can get a darn nice dedicated morticer with a lot more versatility.
