I would like to replace the tool rest on my Jet VS 12 20 with a tool rest with a slick rod on top. Where can I buy one?

Wesley makes some great tool rests.

I just bought several of varying lengths on the penturners.org website in the classifieds. I couldn't be happier with the product, and the price was nice.

Woodturner's catalog (http://www.woodturnerscatalog.com/store/Lathe_Accessories___Tool_Rests___Robust_Comfort_To ol_Rest___robust_tool_rest?Args=) (aka craft supply) sells the robust. No relation, just a satisfied customer. I have two of these for my VS1220 and love them.

Using steel angle can be potential hazardous if the user has fat fingers. Finger can be caught on the angle while the tool accidentally falls off the tool rest. Woodcraft had sold some tool rests of similar design several years ago.

I like the Robust. It has room to hook my finger under for ultimate control on detail work.

If you want the best it will be a Robust.
