Nothing fancy here, just my second and third turns. (1st and 2nd on my own lathe :D)

Bowl is #2 and Pencil holder is #3 and the third photo was my little helper's creation....

Really nice looking pencil holder and outstanding bowl. I am guessing walnut bowl and cherry holder?

Thanks and you are correct on the woods. The orange ball is just run of the mil plastic ;)

The bug has got me now. Not sure I will ever finish the bathroom remodel :D

Very nice work Dave! Really like the Walnut bowl - both form and color! Great idea to make them stackable!

All three are very good. The little foot treatment on the pen holder make it look much better than a straight sided one. The bowl also has nice form.

How did you get the ball so round?!:D

Great job on both, but the walnut bowl takes the prize - very nice wood and excellent form.

The ball just gave me some more ideas on finials!!:D

Very nice form and walnut on the bowl, your little helper threw in a nice touch also.

Thank you all. The bowl was supposed to be quite a bit larger, but it's all part of the learning process.

The pencil holder was just more practice, its far from perfect but I learned quite a bit about working with a skew on that one.

Doug

It's just takes a lot of practice, and some online ordering.:p

Can't wait to see the finials, John.

Nice pieces but I gotta say your pictures are outstanding. As someone who struggles with getting pics of my turnings you seem to have that part of the equation nailed. Nice job.

Thanks! That's my other addiction aside from woodworking.
