Hello,

I recently purchased this routing machine. It is called "the joint machine" made by RBIndustries. I did a search and nothing was to be found. Of the many wood workers on this site I was hoping to find someone who might recognize or no something about it. It is nowhere near a multi-router but does similar operations. A router is mounted on the back plate and the table moves up and down. Also, the back plate can be fixed at any angle from ) to 90 degrees. Any comments or information will be appreciated.

Thanks in advance, George

I am pretty sure RBI makes or sells the HAWK scroll saw. I went to their website, but didn't see anything about your tool. I know that's not much help, but it's sort of a lead...

Basically, it's a horizontal router. They're great for making flat panel cuts with the smaller vertical panel bits.

George, you may try contacting RBI and ask if they have a manual or instructions, they probably have a copy they could send you or fax over. Or better yet someone there that knows all about them..Also if you go to the MLCS web page they sell a horizontal router table singular in concept to this unit that you may get some ideas from. They also have a video on how to use theirs. Plus if you go on U-Tube and put in horizontal routers tables I bet you will get a few blogs to look at that may help as well. and Google “horizontal router table” …Good Luck.

Hello Richard,

Well, I made it home without any problems. Thanks to your help in loading. Also, thanks for all the information in your post. I vacuumed out the Escape and you wouldn't have known that there were two machines in the cargo area. How about you and your sander, did your trip home come out OK? Is the sander performing the way you expect it to? If you are in or around Brighton give me a shout.

Thanks, again

The ride home went fine, but I must say it’s a lot easier to load an 800# sander with a over head crane then it is to unload one without one. Thanks again for the help as well.
