We Finally got the carpet cleaned and walls painted in Megan's new room so we set the bed up tonight. That stain is a great match for the room's trim and door color - M.L. Campbell cinnamon. Top coats are Magnamax Satin lacquer. The Pink beadspread - well that was all the girls' choice. Megan does love monkeys though.

Headboard is 98% qtr sawn red oak (everything was made from 4/4 - glued up bed posts) and the entire bed was made on the SS, Laguna bad boy T1002S shaper, and that Jet floor mortiser finally got some use.

Only metal in the project was used to attach the first two layers of the capitals (two Kreg screws ea) to the top of the bed posts and the bolts used to attach the steel bed frame. Top pyramids cover the Kreg Screws

Megan says she does not want the bed AT ALL. I can really tell. :)

Megan does look pretty upset all right! Give her about 20 years when she moves out and takes the bed with her and always remembers how and when her dad made the bed for her.

Cost of wood for the bed $100.00…

Memory priceless! :)

This was all $.75 bdft red oak shorts. I am guessing less than $25.

It was the $15k in tools that got it priced about right.
