Well almost, I still have to install the dc motor and lights. I'm 1/4 of the way there! The finish will be buffed out after I get the other cars built.

That is just way too cool!!! Very nice work, and some great detailing on the small parts. How many different species did you use?

Now that's my kind of project.:cool: Not only is it a wonderful toy it is a wonderful project. Did you use plans or was it your creation?:confused:

John, I lost count of the number of species I used. When I needed a small part I just used what scrap I had. It has Paduak, walnut, maple, Purple Heart, oak, iron wood and what ever else.

James, I got the plans from Woodcraftplans.com. I have built several of their carousel horses.

Excellent!

Not to hijack the thread, but this reminds me so much of the Warther trains.

Robert, That is just too cool!! My dad is a big train guy and he would love it! He is planning to put a narrow gauge track in his back yard and build the engine and cars. It will be quite a bit bigger than yours but yours is awesome!

Jeff, I'm putting together a Garden Train in my backyard (G-Scale) this spring. You can see some of the cars in the one photo. It' a Piko from Germany.
