i have been looking at drum sanders and picked this one up off craigs list on sunday. it looks a lot like other drum sanders from performax and jet. ayone have any idea if the drum cover from a jet would fit? i'd really like to upgrade the dust collection from 2.5" to 4" but don't want to start hacking and adapting the original drum cover. BTW, got it for $225. mini-gloat qualifier?

Joseph, I have the 16 32 jet and I dont think the lid will fit yours

looks like a pretty good gloat to me

Have you tried using the DC port as is?

I have a 2 1/2" port on my 12" Grizzly baby drum and if works just fine. I would give it a try before you cut it up.

I don't see what the hesitation is. I cut up the top of my Jet in order to make mine a 6"! You'll love having a 4" one up there, so I'd just go ahead and cut the hole and do it. You won't regret it.

I had that model, the original port is ok but 4" will be better. Hey, you're handy.... just put the original cover aside and make one with a 4" port.

I saw pictures of one of those somewhere that had been modified for a 4" port. I'd say try a 2-1/2 to 4 adapter and if that doesn't work for you then modify what you've got. Its not going to be a collectible.

Try the site 'benchmark'. He modified his older 16-32 to utilize a 4" dust port for improved collection. I still have the smaller port; I am just too lazy to cut mine up to make the switch. Maybe soon.
