i have a Ridgid 14" Bandsaw BS1400 and i want some new
zero clearance inserts but never see any for my Ridgid?
i thought i heard one time that ones from another brand
would fit but i didnt pay attention at the time.

i see most stores have them for Jet, Delta, General.
if anyone can help i would appreciate it.

you might try carter products. they offer a wide range of aftermarket BS products. suffolk machinery is another distributor that offers ZCI for band saws. lastly, there is iturra design @

no websit but if they don;t have what you are looking for, they can probably refer you to someplace that does. HTH

Take your handy dandy dial calipers down to the store and measure a few inserts - you will know right away...

just take a piece of melamine the same size of the entire table. turn the saw on and make a slice starting from the back until about halfway until the melamine covers the entire table. Done, instant zero clearance.

If you measure what size you need then others could measure theirs and tell you better where to get them.

I have a Jet and I buy mine from Rockler, I would bet that the Jet or the Delta would fit.

Just checked my Jet, they are 2.49, right at 2 1/2 inches. The Jet has a notch on each side for a pin that is in the table to keep them from turning.

Here is what I use to cut them.

Hartville Tool has a bunch (not saying buy them there), they are sized: Delta, Jet, imports.

Now, I have an imported Delta bandsaw....so I wouldnt know which one to get :) but Im guessing the Ridgid falls under imports.

I use the Carter inserts for a Delta saw in my Ridgid, but they're not a direct fit.

The Delta ones have a ridge molded in the plastic on the underside, which doesn't fit the Ridgid's table. Also the Delta insert is a little thicker overall than the Ridgid. It's an easy fix though, all it takes is a minute on the belt sander and they'll drop in.

I havn't tried ones for a Jet, or other brands. If you have a Rockler/Woodcraft nearby, you might take your Ridgid insert into the store and compare it to the available inserts.

i will get it measured tomorrow and post here, one of the other brands has to be the same.
i wish i had a rockler/woodcraft store down the road, i would give my ass for one but
just no such luck here.

presumably the owner/user of a bandsaw should be capable of making a zero clearance insert without too much trouble :D
