Tomorrow my FIL goes in to have a brain tumor removed. This is the second time in three years. The first time around they couldn't get more than about 90% of it and the remainder started growing again. 40% increase in the last year. This time the original surgeon says he wasn't going to touch it and was referring him to a highly specialized facility. This time there will be 2 teams of surgeons accessing from 2 locations. This is going to be a long venture with high probablity of risk.

I ask that you keep him in your prayers.

Matt, we will pray for your father in law as well. Sorry to hear the tough news, and thanks for asking for people to lift him up before the Lord.

Our thoughts and prayers are with your family & FIL. My brother had a brain tumor removed at University of Michigan hospital....19 years ago & he's still doing fine. There is always hope, keep the faith strong!

Matt, our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. As a good friend of mine, whose daughter is awaiting a heart and lung transplant, says, "with all the modern technology, this is a good time to be sick". There is always hope.

3 hours in of what is expected to be a 12 hour procedure and so far the word is things are going fine. I met with 4 surgeons before the surgery and they were explaining the risks, but not much choice, do nothing it will be fatal sometime down the line.

Hoping for the best. Thank you all for the thoughts and prayers, it means more than you know even if its from people we don't "really" know.:)

11 hours and appears the surgery was a success. Waiting for recovery and to see how his brain functions after surgery but the prognosys is good at this point. 100% of the tumor was removed and nerves appear to be firing as they are intended so far.

Thank you again for your prayers everyone. The power of prayer and positive thoughts is incredible.

Thank you again and God bless.

Matt & Jo.

In my eyes the surgeons performed a miracle. He has had no adverse reaction to surgery. He is awaiting an MRI to check for swelling of the brain stem but other than that he was eating solid food for breakfast and lunch and took a short stroll in a walker today just 24 hours after surgery. All his facial movements are fine, they checked his facial muscles every hour all through the first night and day and seem to be working fine.

Maybe wishful thinking but they are talking sending home by the weekend.

All the Drs are pleasantly surprised at his progress, when their happy.....we're happy.:D

Thank you all again for the power of prayer!!!!!!

That's amazing! Thanks for the update! I hope he continues with his rapid recovery - nothing helps healing faster than getting out of the hospital and going home!
