Found an old ugly looking hunk of what turned out to be Maple in a dusty corner and talked the owner out of it. Guess what was inside!!

Thanks for all the nice comments. To answer a couple of questions-Charlie-I signed it. David-It's approximately 6" x 6". Nick-the finish is Danish Oil followed by the Beall system-like in Bill Grumbine's video.

Michael--I soaked it in Danish oil, let it dry for about 72 hours and finished with all three parts of the Beall buffing system

I don't have that buffing system. It appears to work very well. I have seen it on a turning dvd. I will be getting it sometime.
