I have a Oneway Rotary adapter for my vacuum system and am wondering what speed these things can be run at. When I am truing my twice turned bowls I am usually tuning at over 1000RPM is this too fast for the rotary adapter. The rotary adapter looks like it has a very slight wobble while running on the lathe which makes me wonder if highspeed turning would be bad for the adapter? What kind of speeds will you subject your rotary adapter to?

Jonathan - Oneway is usually pretty good with labeling restrictions on their products. I am guessing that there is nothing in the literature that came with the adapter - and I know there is nothing on their website - so I would think that as long as the adapter is not getting hot - you would be OK.

I got my vacuum adapter from Tom Steyer (http://www.jtturningtools.com/node/7) and have not had any problems with speeds. Course, my adapter unplugs from the lathe when I am not using it - so when I turn at 1000 rpm - I do not have to worry about it.

Worse case, you can always call the company and see what they have to say.
