You'll most likely have issues getting it to work with anything beyond XP.

This is because Microsoft will not let you load any unsigned drivers or software into YOUR computer.
Microsoft started this with vista.
I have real issues with this policy. I should be the one that decides what software or drivers that I want to load into my machine. However, I digress.

Hi Stan,

You would need to check on Device Drivers for win7 on the Lasercut website.

Other than that you will be stuck with whatever the last OS was that the dongle was written for.

You may want to read up on VirtualPC 2007. It is a Microsoft system and it is free. During the install it states it will not work on anything lower than Enterprise versions but I have it working fine under Vista Home and also XP Home. Ignore the warnings and proceed with the install.

Once you have that running, install an older operating system within the virtual PC, then install Lasercut and the dongle.

well it really is not a big deal,as lasercut also supports drivers for corel draw 11.12.13 not the newest 14 nad autocad 2000,2004,2006 which again is way back.
Xp actually is fine to use ,i like win7 it seems to act like a mature xp pro but i went back to xp pro and everyhting is running fine ,wireless under win7 is the only thing i miss as its more sensitivre and i get a better signal strength.
My cnc router runs under xp pro ,i guess if its working leave it alone

Hi James,

You might want to check this site...

Also google the following for some alternatives.

Hi all

Know this an old thread and my be answered elsewhere. I am new to laser cutting/engraving, just alignment mirrors and cut my first mdf letter.

Anyway l installed Laser cut 5.3 on win7, it's not the OS, the drivers are 32 bit only. So win7 32 bit works, 64 bit will not. I have a CNC router as well and its the same sort of thing.

Hope this helps someone

Cheers Bob

I'm running Lasercut 5.3 on three computers, all Win 7, with two being 64 bit and one being 32 bit. Vista was a long fight that I lost...grrrr.
