OT - ordering car parts

Sorry that my first post in quite a while has to be OT, but I have been EXTREAMLY busy.... Finishing up the Pond CD, working on all new kitchen cabinets for my Grandparents that are way overdue (and the counter tops will be in in two weeks), training a new puppy, expecting our 4th kid, sports starting for 2 of the other kids, oh, and my regular job... anyway....

My wife is having a really hard time getting into the suburban since there are no running boards or side steps so I promised her that I would get something there for her.

I've found some nice looking side steps from JCWhitney, but before I go and order them I figured I see if anyone had any suggestions for other places to look that may be cheaper.

These are the sites I visit when shopping for GM products. Most are easy to use if you already have the part number. Once you get the number, compare.

I put Ford running boards on my Explorer cheaper than aftermarket. My salesman sold them to me at cost, because he always gets a shot when I'm shoping.

I bought those items for my Tundra from Performance Products. JC Whitney is almost like HFT to me...at least in the "handling" and shipping charges department!

I went with the Smitty-Built step bars and have been very pleased with them.

Hi Andrew. Take a look at http://www.realtruck.com. They have what they call "Nerf" bars which attach where you would expect a running board to be. The have them for 2000 and newer Suburbans....

I bought some cargo box rails and protectors from them and got good service.

I bought a set of Westin Oval Tubes for my F250 4x4 from J.C.Whintey. They had the best price for them plus I had a coupon for 15% off. These tubes are made from aluminum with a chrome plating. They took about 45 min. to install with no drilling.
I have ordered from them in the past and present with no problems.

I'm not sure whether you want steps or running boards. I put running boards on my pickup(Dodge 4X4 & tall). My wife is short!

I had Ultraboards installed and couldn't be happier once I got past the sticker shock. They are stainless steel polished tubing with an aluminum extrusion attached to form the step. I am over 200 lbs and they don't budge when I jump up on them.
