I have an opportunity to purchase a Keller 1600 dovetail template for $100. This is not the 1601 but the model that preceded it, the 1600. It will not come with the router bits. I will have to buy them from Keller. The template is in excellent condition. Does anyone have experience with this template. Did they change to the 1601 because the 1600 had a problem of some kind? Is this a reasonable price for the template without the bits? Thanks for any help you guys can offer.

I have the basic basic keller, and I love it.

The model 1601 has a MSRP of $269.00, inc. bits.

The 1600 standard bit set --1600S1 -- is $74.00 + shipping.

So this used jig is going to cost you about $174.00. Seems a bit high for me considering the cost of a new-in-the-box 1601. But everything seems expensive to me these days. Is the seller's price "set in stone"?? You might try to knock off a few dollars.

I have the 1600 and 2400 Keller jigs -- both are good jigs and well made. have no idea as to why or how Keller made changes to the 1600.

If you buy it, I would suggest that you also purchase the instructional video for $9.00.
