My wife went down to her mom's for a week and I had a little money and I got the work out of the way so it was time to redo my shop. it has been needing it for a long time. when I moved in I was making planes and I did not work with large pieces of wood. then I bought my cnc router and had to wedge it in. things were really tight and my dc setup had gotten pretty bazar.
So I got a load of scrap wood to the recyclers and started friday right after I did the last job for a customer.
so first thing the cnc router got moved and now has 3' on each side and the back is fully accessible to easy loading. now the tablesaw is fully usable and the larger bandsaw is too. not sure if the lathe is pictured but it is going by-bye. there will be a shelf for my sanders and the computers will go on the blue table by my machine. I got most things placed today and ran more pipe. the picture is of the overarm swing arm for the dc to the router. I was hoping to finish it today but 8:30 was late enough.
Iam so worn out but still several more days of dc work and finishing everything. got to get a 3 phase line ran to the machine again since the old one is where the chopsaw is. I will have a 4x8 assembly table right by the chopsaw in the corner and another one right by the router between the tablesaw and bandsaw. and a outfeed table too. plus now I can put shelves up too.

Are you in the basement of the Chrysler building?

just aout. it is a old produce building and I am in the basement. but it is a great place for a shop temps never get as above 78 or below 60. humidity is pretty even too. tons of rebar in the ceiling so it makes it a pain to hang things. but there are 11 shops in the basement and we can share tools and help each other. good for subbing job parts between us too if I can't do some of it.

Tell me about the lathe that's going away.

it is a jet midi lathe with I think the nova chuck. I have two powder metal tools and one hss one. only a hour or so use on it.

What are you asking for it?

it would have to be a local sale. I was thinking 250.00

I love the one lone Teva sitting in the middle of the table in the fourth picture! That is great. I imagine you working with just the left Teva on as the work is so important and pressing that you just didn't have time to get the right one on. Sometimes I do that .

Steve, that's a curious looking jig on the out feed of your jointer. Care to share what is is and how it works?

Wow, Steve. That's a big rearrangement job! Looks like a good time to pull out the vacuum and go nuts cleaning. (looks like you've got TWO fein vacs there at the end of your CNC)

You've got a great big space, but I dunno if I could handle the lack of windows if I was in there all day working. Do you have a fresh air intake somewhere?

yes it is getting clean the dust is a real pain though. there is a little bit of air flowing through my shop.
what are windows for just diastractions and you can't use the wall space :)
yep two feins never have touched dust. they work great for the job but can still heat the shop up in summer.
well no day off yet back to work.
