Should a gent saw cut on the pull or push stroke?

Typically push, otherwise (in theory) the spine could be eliminated.

I believe I have that one pictured (crown) and I'm sure it is push (haven't really used it in a while). I have a smaller saw with no spine, very flexible also Crown, and that one is pull.

Crown and Zona and probably a few others offer a very fine tooth >24tpi version that cuts on the pull but also has a spine.

Most other gent's saws with the spine will cut on the push.
