Not reasonably-priced, no. Flaming Pear's India Ink photoshop plugin is pretty reasonably priced. Not as good, but as you save $350+ the results can be lived with.

If you buy Photograv from developer, you can try it I think for 30 days and return if you're not happy.

I took it out of the package and in 5 minutes I was engraving on black granite tiles.

Compare it against the Photoshop plug-in and see if it's worth the money.

I'm not affiliated in any way with the Photograv company but I felt it was worth the investment as it would save me some time and expense on ruined material/substrates.

I purchased photograv myself it is not cheap. But if you plan on getting in photos big time it is worth the investment. I'm new to this game myself been at it a little over a year and it is a big help. Saves time and material.
If you feel the cost would justify the need and you have the cash. I doubt that you would regret buying it latter.
