Well here she is DONE. This fern stand pedestal is made of Kentucky Coffee Wood. Top and bottom are cedar with a heavy band of walnut trim and inlay.
This is the sharpest fern stand I have ever built and I have built several.
SWMBO has spent alot of time getting this thing to shine --we lost count but are guessing about 20 coats of poly:D
Hope you have enjoyed watching this being built---it was a real job on my little lathe.

I was referring to the post actually. I guess that would make it about 10 inches in diameter? Very nice. Unbeleivable patience with the finish for wifey.

Gary -

Looks great. A long way from the original post that had us all worried about lathe abuse. :) :)

Ted

Ted I am going to stop turning anything this big until I can figure out how to get a BIG lathe. SWMBO keeps trying to talk me into buying a Oneway but I need to save a few more green backs first.
