SWMBO bought a bamboo cutting board which she would like a juice channel routed into. I've never worked with bamboo before. Is there anything special to it or does it mill just like any other hardwood?

Thanks

If it's anything like the bamboo flooring I put down you will need a REALLY sharp bit and when you get through, it won't be.

+1 on that. I have a product that involve uite a bit of bamboo, and it's hell on knives and blades. Very high silica content I think.

Ditto on the two above.

We have strand bamboo flooring and I use the leftovers for various tasks, the stuff is a PITA to cut! It will definitely dull your blade!

you guys are wimps. I have cut a lot of it on my cnc router. sure stinks up the shop. a climb cut gives me the cleanest cut. as usual keep the rpms low and cut as fast as you can.
