These vessels, both from the same chunk of wood, have an unusual spalting, so I thought that I'd post them. Dia is about 7 inches on both. Collars are Bolivian Rosewood.

Due to an illness I haven't been in my shop for a couple of months. These were turned some time ago.

Wally, those look great, and some of the most interesting wood I have seen. Beautiful colors, and the interaction of the growth rings with the spalting has created some very attractive patterns and color.

Hope you get back to the shop soon!

Hope you are able to get back to turning soon.

I like the color match of the rosewood collar with the spalting.

Wally, I know how the sickness stuff feels, it seems like this has been the worst winter for me in many years. I hope you are feeling better and able to get back in the shop.

The HF's are just beautiful! Spalted wood of that caliber with the different colors of wood are hard to find sometimes. It really gives the name "Mapwood" the reason for the name. Nice job with the collars and finish as always.

Take care and thanks for sharing,

Jeff
