While using the freud drawer lock router bit, I am unable to get a snug fit. I am wondering if the bit is defective (making excuses) or my technique of off.

Any feedback would be appreciated.

Go back a day or so in the General WW'ing which you ar in and there is a good tutorial on the drawer lock miter and how to micro adjust which you usually have to do on any lock miter bit. I assume you are using a template to set the height? If not.. cut one from UHMW.

I don't believe he is using the lock miter bit as the basic drawer lock bit has different technique. It's all about setup and as stated above, the ability to micro adjust to get where you like the fit. Use plenty of scrap and once you get it where you want it save the peice that looks and fits good. Or make one out of UHMV or something as durable to have around to make future setup a snap.
