Everyone seems to be building a stand for their midi lathes....
So I figured I should jump on this trend.

I'm just about done.
A cherry plywood carcass, some cherry trim and some left over hinges and handles from my last shop project....

Looking for tool storage that is hidden I made side compartments with doors.
One side is for the sticks.

And what's a shop cabinet without some hand cut dovetails...

Now for a top and finish the drawer bottoms.
A little more BLO for the doors.
Figure out what to do for feet and she will be ready to mount the lathe..

Hope everyone is getting some good shop time this weekend.

Gary,
That is really a nice cabinet. It will show off you lathe as well. Nice job-especially like the turning tool cabinet. Very nice.

Gorgeous, if my lathe stand looked that nice I would keep my lathe in my living room.

Functional and beautiful. Very nice. My only worry is that that mustard will crush it when you put it on top. At the very least, it may be a little tall for turning!:D

The only guy I know that builds living room furniture for his shop!! Of course, with that Neander corner full of cherry cabinetry you did last year, the bar is set pretty high for your shop!

Nice work, Gary, as one would expect!!!:D

Oh yeah, Geri is away for two days and you get to play in the shop the whole time!! Taking the day off tomorrow to play, too?!?!??

Man that's nice! There seems to be quite a few woodworkers coming over into the turning side of things lately. Myself, I've never joined two pieces of wood with anything but a 16 penny nail. I'd like to learn to do the dovetail thing someday.

Worthy of a granite top, not that it would look out of place! Very nice cabinet Gary. Especially like the figured cherry drawer fronts & joinery. Nice work.

Nice work! I love the curly cherry drawers, esp. the dovetails!

Beautiful work. Heirloom shop cabinetry is one of the more advanced symptoms of wood working addiction if I'm not mistaken.:)

Very nice but that just wouldn't "fit" in my shop.:)

Really nice cabinet. That would be to nice for my shop. I am like Curt if I can't use 3" wood screws or 16 penny nails I am in trouble.:D

Wow, Gary, you have the nicest shop furniture I have ever seen. Nicer than the furniture in most peoples houses.
Just gorgeous! :)
