I am looking to make a coat stand for my office, and would like to see what others have come up with. Something along these lines:

Here is an A&C hall tree that I recently completed.
It is made of cherry, and the design came from a book of A&C designs.
I do not have the book in front of me, if anyone cares, I will post the name.
Beware of the hardware. It can cost more than the wood.
Take care

John - That's the kind of thing I'm looking for. Do you have any construction details ?

These are a pair that I made for my daughter and myself. The three legs make them very stable, but the tapered six sided column makes construction interesting

The design was taken from "Arts & Crafts Woodworking Projects"
by Robert E. Belke.
The Main post is 1.75 square by 68 inches.
The support boards are 1 1/16 thick, They are doweled/glued to the main post. (I used Domino)
I also used Domino to locate the supports onto the feet.
Screws up through the feet into the supports and the post hold it together.
The feet are 1.75 x 3.5 x 24.
All wood is Cherry. (original design called for Oak)
I sent my wife out to pick out some coat hooks.
She came back with very high quality bronze hooks that doubled
the cost of the project.
This was a fun project, good 90 degree surfaces made assembly easy.
Take care

These are the ones I made for Christmas presents. The plan came from a back issue of WoodSmith. They are an Arts and Craft style. The trunk is made up of 4 pieces 1 inch square.

This is one that I turned out of black ash a few years ago.
It is 6' tall.

Thanks Quinn. Nice coat rack. Somehow I missed yours when I did my initial search on Sawmill Creek.
