I just had to do it. It's a blood-wood bowl with a holly heart inlaid in the center of the bottom tell me what you think.

Nicely done... My preference would be for solid bloodwood, but it's perfect as is for the "holiday".

Very impressive, that had to be hard to do. I would not have thought to inlay a holly heart into bloodwood but it looks great.

well Ray...
I cut the mortise for the heart with a router and chisel(the dirty little secret is I split blank in half first), and I cut the heart with a band saw and cleaned it up with files and sanding blocks.
...Perhaps I should do a tutorial...
I'm a flat woodworker by trade and inlays are kind of a common practice for me... Patience and creativity will take you to amazing new places!
