Three people were killed in a shooting at the University of Alabama in Huntsville today around 4:00 PM. Three others were wounded with two in critical condition. This happened at the Shelby Center on campus where a meeting was in progress. The gunman is in custody.
This follows a shooting at a middle school in Madison, Alabama last Friday that left a 14 year old boy dead. Madison is an affluent suburb of Huntsville. The gunman in that shooting was also a 14 year old boy. They were reported as wanting to join a gang, along with four other students at the school. The school and police are still investigating , and the other students may be suspended.
