Is there any harm in running a lathe on it's power setting all the time? I've been busy roughing and coring bowls a lot and was wondering if there was any harm in using the lathe this way all the time?

I hope this makes sense. To clarify I have three pulleys on the lathe to increase torque and I've be using the pulley with the most torque exclusively. Just wondering if there is any harm in doing this?

Not at all.
Motor runs faster. Same power output, higher rpm, more fan speed, cooler windings. Martha Stewart: A good thing.

I don't see the harm. I never move mine.

Jonathan, its actually better on the motor to run it the way you do because the motor has to work less

That's what the low range is for - lower speeds, plenty of torque. Have fun - looking forward to seeing the photos!

The only problem I have with the slow speed range on my lathe is that it is too slow for most of my bowl turning. The high torque is nice though.
