Hi,
I just brought in my DeWalt DW 718, 12" slider for repair.
The entire arm/motor assembly would not stay completely locked in place after the latch plate detent was engaged. The saw has 7 degrees of play in the bevel mechanism.
Also, when attempting to set one of the 45 deg. stops, the bevel adjustment screw actually sheared off part of the threaded housing of the saw table where the screw inserts.
Has anyone else had similar problems with this saw??

One more try. I can't be the only one.

Nope, I have a DW717 and it has been great for me. I bought it to replace the DW712 that was destroyed in a fire about 18 months ago. I had the DW712 for about 5 years and it did all I could ask of it. I just went with the 10" saw because of blade compatibility. I have never had any performance issues with either of them.

Ok. Have had this saw for a number of years and use it constantly never had any problem.
