Love all of them Ed but lean on the cherry and walnut if I had to chose one for personal use. As usual.. another great job on all three.

BTW.. thanks for the head's up on the $2.05 a bd. ft. curly maple at Suwanee Lumber. I found time to get up around 3 PM yesterday and hand pick some excellent pieces that had some great shimmer on the surfaces. I didn't need any at the moment but at that price it was a deal I couldn't refuse. ;)

Regards...

Ed,

If you don't want the humidor, I'll take it, but if you want it or it's sold you can just send me those cigars. :D Great taste in humidor construction and in cigar selection.

They look great, I intend to build something similar soon. How do you get the mitered corners to be perfect. From my little experience in the past it seems that mine usually end up having small gaps.

Where do you get your cedar? I can't ever seem to find any around me.

p.s. Those Man'o'War ruination's are awesome, that looks like a CI Cigar of the Month offering... is it?

Appears Ed must be busy or possibly out of town Rob. I do believe the last batch he got (he usually purchases a lot for use in humidors) was from Peach State Lumber here in Atlanta. He brought it by my shop and we re-sawed 8/4 to 1/2" thichnesses so he could take it down from there on his planer when needed. Ed doesn't have a large re-saw BS.

All 4 of the major sources here in the Atlanta area carry Spanish Cedar I believe. You might find some local as there is a web-site to locate hard-wood where you enter your zip code. Not much of a computer guy so someone may provide the site name as I don't remember exactly.

Good luck...

Thank you John, I'll definitely look into it. I've got a Rockler and a Woodcraft in town, but man they are nutty on wood prices.

Thanks Sarge... Yes, I've been slammed...I currently have 9 humidors on the bench and seem to be burning the candle at both ends.... I look like pigpen on Charlie Brown... cloud of dust following me where ever I go...

I get the SC at various places.... Peach State Lumber in Kennesaw is a good source as they provide the rough sawn 4/4 which yields more in the end.... Also, Carlton McClendon's Rare Wood & Veneer in downtown Atlanta has been a newfound candy store for me... this fellow has just about anything you can think of... and I recently picked up some 8/4 spanish cedar from him at 5.50 / bf..... can't go wrong with that....

Well... Time to get busy!

I was just about to say...have you been to Mclendon's. Richard is great. Real nice guy and they have allll sorts of cool stuff. In my opinion...its the best place to get rare wood and veneer..and at a fair deal. lots of exotic stuff.
Not to mention..the atmosphere in that place...it isnt a big lumber yard with computers and hotlines and check out counters... its like grandmoms house filled with dank lumber.
its the only place i get my exotic wood.
sweetwater lumber has good stuff..and in bulk.
I got 700 bdft of 10"+ walnut 4/4 and some of it was amazing.lots of figure and it looks like its all claro or that type of quality.

Im in macon by the way. shop pics will come soon. lol

Thanks agian for taking the time to post these Ed. I can see if I get the time that at lest one of your boxes will be turned into a tea box. Tired of pickng tea packets out of the cat water dish.
