PC893 problem

I have a PC893 combo kit. Works great in both bases except when i go to pull the motor out of the plunge base. For the life of me i cannot get it to come out of the plunge base. Yesterday afternoon I had to secure the top of the motor in a vise to get it out of the plunge base. I've got the pins lined up and everything so its not like i forced fit it to start with.

Anyone else experience this issue? Any ideas on what i can do to fix it?

I've had that problem with the fixed base. For me, it was (is) wood swarf that gets between the motor and the housing. I use an air hose to blow it out, and pull and push on the motor at the same time.

I find that if I blow the area between the motor and housing after each use, I don't have the problem but, of course, I don't do that often enough.

Amen Mike...I am right with you on that. It is a tough proposition but you have come up with a good solution.
