Saw this on CL - thought maybe it was a base that can be purchased, or ideas for those looking to put a base on their new Ridgid $199 jointer.

I have no idea how to attach pics to my post. But here is a link...

Kurt,

That is the mobile base that I used.:D Only modification I did was install the jointer legs onto a 3/4" piece of plywood to help stiffen up the legs. I then put some tough rubber pieces between the mobile cart and plywood to help isolate any vibration.

Yep, I have my JT360 (soon to be the Ridgid) jointer on that same base.

At some point HD cleared thoses bases out for 10.00 each!! its not quite as nice as the HercULift caster set that Ridgid used to make, but at least the base in your pic is still available.

I put this together in about an hour using what was avail in the scrap bin, 2x4's and 3/4 ply, add some HD casters about $25

Very much like the one I built about 9 years ago for my 'grey' joiner. I like the small box to collect the shavings... Since they just fall out I never thought about putting a collecting box right there, rather than just let them fall on the floor. Doh!

That is a base that can be purchased... @ Woodcraft (http://www.woodcraft.com/Product/2020485/22585/WoodRiver-Adjustable-Mobile-Base.aspx)

I have 2 of them, they work great for the price.
