This bowl is 6" wide and 4" high. Finish is 6 coats of antique oil then Beal buffed. Comments welcome! Two different pics! Thanks for looking. G

Looks like a nice even thickness around the rim. That is hard to do on a natural edge bowl. Good job!

Good job on that one George. As Robert mentioned it looks like you created a nice even thickness which isn't all that easy to do successfully. Any problem keeping the bark in place? Looks like in picture #1, upper right corner, a piece of bark is just sitting there with a hole right in the middle.

Pretty bowl. The sapwood still looks fairly light. Did the oil darken it much or is it just the lighting of the picture? Have never tried cherry but the AO seems to darken the sapwood of the ones I have tried sometimes more than I would have liked.

The oil does darken it some,I have also used acrylic poly that works also. To keep the bark on I use a little CA glue before I start the inside of the bowl.
I have bowl buffs that work on the inside being careful to not hit the bark!
