My best buddy has a Fender Strat that had an an aftermarket wooden pickguard that just didn't measure up. I have a stash of Walnut Crotchwood and made him a suitable replacement for Christmas. I think it turned out pretty well. Finish is Watco Danish Oil (Natural) with Garnet Shellac to seal it up and paste wax as a topper.

Well now mine goes to "11" and that's one more isn't it?
That walnut belongs on an expensive shotgun!

Rob, that looks really sharp with the contrasting lighter wood of the body and neck. Kudos!
