Just missed out on a CL deal...

I just missed out on what seemed like a really good deal on CL. It was a 31 ton Yard Machines log splitter for $500.

Please, somebody, tell me this brand and this model were pieces of junk. Pleasd, somebody, tell me that they have/had one of these and they would never buy one again.

I have a couple of red oak that are NOT all nice and straight...very knotty...that I have to split and am REALLY not looking forward to it.

Someone, please make me feel better about missing this one... :(

I heard that there was at least one 31 ton splitter that was rated to split 31 tons cumulative. Once you ran 31 tons through it, it stopped working.

Maybe the CL ad was for one of those. Lucky you missed out. Feel any better?:D

Saw the log into really short pieces of firewood! Then, split/resaw as necessary to get into your woodstove.

Thank you Bob, yeah, that helped by giving me a smile. But I have a feeling I really missed out on this one. I just picked up my chainsaw chains from the place that sharpens them for me and I told him about the one that got away, and his response, "Oooooh, that would have been a steal!". BTW, he's an MTD dealer....
