Maybe a little out of your driving range, but Keim Lumber in Charm Ohio is a great lumberyard.

Kreis Sawmill in Marysville has excellent prices, and usually a lot of domestics in stock.

Thanks Mike for the tip. I never heard of Sheils. Will check them out.

Do you know about Hardwood Lumber and More in the Milford shopping center? Large selection of Hardwood, JET tools and Rockler brand products.
Steve who use to work in the Paxton store started his own place. about the size of 10 Rockler stores. And it about 3 miles from the house:D

Is there perhaps an index or directory of lumberyards around the country? Seems this comes up on SMC every once in a while, and it's never in my neck of the woods ;-)

Not that I know of - I found in local yellow pages and word of mouth.

" The high grade is Fc&Btr"

What does this mean? This was a reply from Shiels. $1.40 per bf, 350 min, random widths and lengths. Should a % be over 8" wide, etc?

Sure they didn't mean FAS&Btr

FAS
FAS derives from an earlier grade known as "First and Seconds". It is the best and most expensive grade. Boards 6" and wider, 8' and longer. Yields 83-1/3 percent of clear face cuttings with minimum sizes of 4" x 5', or 3" x 7'. Suitable for fine furniture, interior joinery, solid wood moldings, and other applications where clear, wide boards are needed.

&Better

There min is 350 BF? Last time I bought I was able to get 100 BF. Do you need that much?

well, not sure why the 350 min. I have actually had two people email me with the Shiels last name, so I am going to see who gives the better deal:D

Dont need 350 bf, but at that price its more than worth it in my mind, specially for this close. I paid 3.40 at a local lumber yard the other day.

If your in columbus go to spartan tool. A real mindblower. Not so much fine woodworking stuff but one of the best commercial and industrial tool shops I have been in.

I like Hardwood Lumber and More also. Its a great store.

However, I did not mention them because he said he wanted rough lumber.
