What do you guys use to keep rust off your cast iron tabletops AND keep them nice and slick?

I use a grater to shave paraffin into chips. Then I disolve these in low oder mineral spirits. Put mixture into a spray bottle. Spray top, let MS evaporate, and buff with a paper towel. Mixture has to be kept warm, or it will solidify.

1+ Cheap and a can will last a lifetime. Other things work well but not better IMHO. Just cost more.

I use this. (or use to:() Works very well.

Me too... I use a portable propane heater so there is a lot of "dew" on my tools at times. I never have a problem with rust.

I put a coat on 3-4 times a year.
