Well the wood that John Keeton so graciously sent is completed. 6 coats of wipe on poly and buffed. This is the same one posted earlier but without the finish. The LOML has dubbed this my new popcorn bowl or she said it would be used for chips when company came.

Beautiful color on that bowl. I love all the cracks and "imperfections". Nice work on a difficult piece of wood.

Bernie, thanks for giving that piece of wood your energy and effort - not to mention the tons of chemicals you had to use to get it to work.

Wish I had known enough about turning wood to not have sent you a junky piece of wood. I am learning, though!! It was the thought that counted!:o

Stop and see me on the way to Virginia, and I will make it up to you!

Good looking bowl there Bernie. Love all that color too. Mine is soaking in the DNA and then hopefully I can put it back together:confused:

Thanks all. John there was just two places in it that were troublesome but with a little patience it came out fine. I am pleased with it and like I said it is my popcorn bowl now. The wife has it proudly displayed on the kitchen table. She loves it and loves the color. I do appreciate it John and will do on my trip down.

Pretty colors. I am not especially a poly fan but it really improved this one. Came out well!

Nice job Bernie. I like the high sheen; it brings something more to the piece.

That really pops out at you. Very nicely done, Bernie. Popcorn sounds like a good use for it. :)

Stunning color, popcorn ought to blend in very well! I'm normally a big fan of deep finishes, but you did good using it on this one, really pulls the colors through! Sounds like you worked really hard on this bowl from reading previous posts, You're due a good bowl of popcorn.
