maple burl bowl ???

I turned a 8 inch bowl this morning but I think that it not quite dry( it did not throw water on me but it was very easy to turn and the shavings felt moist) I only rough turned it to about 1/2 in all over. I do not have any DNA at the home so I put it into a ziplock bag with a bunch of the shaving till I get some DNA tomorrow,and use that process.It is in my shop and the heat is off ( cold outside only 20 F) Am I ok till I start soaking it tomorrow evening? Thanks

It is hard to say Charles. What is the temp inside? If it doesn't go down below 40 to 45 degrees I would think you would be ok.

It's a judgment call Charles. I would think the rough out would be fine. You have it packed in shavings, sealed in a ziplock which seals in moisture - so it shouldn't crack on you.

Looking forward to seeing the finished bowl! Hope 1/2" is enough to overcome whatever warping takes place when drying.
