My sister-in-law is a pastor and asked me to make her a Wooden Chalice and Paten. I made them out of cherry. The chalice is 8" high and the paten 9" wide. Finish is 10 coats of antique oil. She loved them, what do you think?

Looks like you have a couple of winners there Ron.
I can understand why your sister in law was happy.

Nice work, they look really good. I agree with Steve, those will only improve with age. I'm sure you told her to keep them in the same light or they will become different colors over time.

Very nice Ron. Your sister is quite lucky to have a brother that can turn such fine pieces. The chalice is great & the paten has some incredibly intereting grain.

Ron, you did a great job on these, and the cherry is very nice - particularly the paten. They make a beautiful set, and as Steve said, give them a couple of years and they will mellow into an even more beautiful set.

Well done!!

Ron,
Very nice, you gave me an idea for a retired pastor friend of mine. Every one is right-it will just get better with age.
