Clear Automotive Urethane's

Has anyone tried using catalyzed clear automotive urethane on wood working projects?

I have been looking for a top coat to use over lacquer. I love the rich warm look of rubbed lacquer on a table but wont tolerate everyday use.

Heat and water quickly destroy the finish.

Stop! You can't use a stable product over a non stable product. It will attack the unstable finish and you'll have a mess. A stable product is one with a catalyst. You can reverse the procedure, but why would you?
