buffing wheel preference

I am going to be purchasing 8" buffing wheels and what is the preference to get. Do you guys like the loose layers attached at the arbor or the ones that are sown together?

Richard - I use the loose layered wheels and find they work well. The sewed wheels are to stiff for me and I always thought they would work better on metal than wood. Just an opinion.

Ditto what Steve said. I use the sewn ones on metal or plastic.

Double ditto. I was a holdout on buffing for a good while. Now that I've tried it I am a staunch believer. It makes a huge difference in the quality of your work. You will not be dissapointed. The "breaking in" of the wheels can be a little messy but it is worth it.
