I'm looking for some copper sheeting for a project, about 12" x 24" and fairly thick, say, .02" to .04". All I can find online is larger quantities, or the wrong dimensions, and pretty expensive! Anyone know a good source for such a thing, or maybe have a suitable piece laying around they'd be willing to sell for a reasonable amount?

TIA

Seattle is a big place and I would think a roofing place would have scraps after a job. I have gotten pieces from a scrap yard here. Any metal yards up there? Boat place? Call your local sculptor.

Probably not cheap either, but I was at a Dick Blick (Art supply) store and saw that they had small (like 6" x 12") copper sheets and mesh for sale there. It was buy the sculpting supplies.

Copper is a commodity and it's price fluctuates. The "current" price for new 3' x 10' sheets of 16 ounce copper (weight per square foot) is somewhere around $150 per sheet. 16 ounce copper is approximately .022 mm thick and 32 ounce copper is .043 mm thick. If you only need two square feet, then try a scrap yard. However, most like it won't be in very good condition.

Do a Google search for jewelry supplies. I got some sheet copper from Thunderbird a few years ago.

I found this through Amazon and bought a 12x12 copper sheet (one only). No problem but for only one sheet I didn't try checking prices as it seemed reasonable to me.

Check your local hardware store for copper flashing. I get mine locally in 20" widths for ~ $9 per lb. A 16 x 20" piece weighs aprox. 1 3/4 lbs.

Good company. I get oddball pieces of various metals from them quite regularly.

If your local hardware stores don't have it, you might try calling a HVAC business. They may have what you are looking for.
