Occasionally I've been finding that I have to repeatedly hit the Stop and Start buttons to get the jointer to start. Sometimes it takes 5-6 tries.
I think I don't get the "click" when when hitting the Stop button.
Any ideas?
Jointer is only a few months old.

Brian,

I had a table saw like that. I had to blow the sawdust out of the switch with my air compressor periodically. Might be worth trying.

I've never had that problem with my DJ-20 (17 years old), but like Ken I had an import TS that was always doing it. I would blow the switch out, and occasionally pull it apart and clean the contacts.

Do you have dust collection on the jointer? That may help reduce the problem also.

Does it have a simple mechanical switch or LVC (low voltage control- relay) setup. The answer may be dust in the switch in both cases. Also, for an LVC it could be the contacts are dirty or bad in either the switch or the relay (latching circuit contacts.)
