I was browsing a Grizzly catalogue for a new switch for my Ras. They rate these by volts and amps. Is the amp rating specified a maximum amp for the particular
switch? My Ras has a 15 amp motor. Do I look for a 15 amp switch?

thanks
Lou

I believe the switch shows it's maximum safe use amp rating. I would get a switch with a higher amp rating than the device it is controlling. A motor can draw higher amp loads during start-up. In any case I don’t think using a 50 or even a 100 amp switch would matter, not that you need one that high. Call Grizzly’s costumer service line and they should be able to recommend the correct switch. You might also consider checking with the local electrical supply store. (industrial) I have been happy with my grizzly machines and their costumer service has been first rate, but I have a friend that had trouble with their motor starter switches and he wasn’t happy with their quality.
